Emily: Welcome to the 4:18 Podcast. This podcast shares the untold stories of what God is doing through the ministry of Possibilities Africa and testifies to the power of Jesus as described in Luke 4:18 which reads, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”

I’m your host, Emily Frenzen, and today I am so eager to invite you back for the rest of our conversation with Gilbert. If you haven’t listened to part one, I would encourage you to do so at some point. But for now, we’re going to dive back into questions. Gilbert, how can we pray for you personally and for the ministry in Kenya? 

Gilbert: Personally, I think I really want to live and honor God. I don’t want to really miss him–I don’t miss what he’s telling me at the personal level, family level, every day. I think when you are able to discern and to know what he wants at what time and live out accordingly and be able to be faithful in that area, it is so assuring. So I want to do everything that He wants me to do and do it well in the season that I am in. That is for me. 

And for the ministry of Kenya, we have an upcoming-we have a coming module two training. We are anticipating quite a number of pastors. We also are doing what you call the CBD, Capacity Building Drives, visiting some communities that are being the program that are being given the final touch of engagement. So some of us are going to be traveling to the communities this month, so praying for us on that aspect. 

The flood–we are now in the post-recovery stages. So even though in a place where maybe our persons are not directly affected, where they are, who are affected, therefore it will also affect them, because that is an ecosystem kind of. So we are praying that in this season of recovery, the flood cease fully, but then also this season, that God will be gracious to help us. 

Emily: Yeah. My last question for you is, do you have anything that you want to say to the church in America and the people who are listening to this? 

Gilbert: Yeah, I think I will say, Christian community is a small community. It is not very big. We are not many globally; a small community. So we are almost a nuclear family. The Christian family is a small family. So whatever is happening in here, in this part of the world, affects you on the other part of the world, and so appreciating the burden that you carry in this part, praying with us, praying with the work that God is doing in Africa. 

You know, for those who have traveled would know, you know, you carry a burden, you carry some sort of burden. So that’s whyAmerica and those who are here, may the Lord continue to burden them with his work and his burden that he carries over this part of the world. No person does anything for God unless God has moved his heart-unless God has really moved the heart. So the sum of you might never come to Africa. You may never come to Africa, but the Spirit of God in you is able to open your eyes to see what God is doing in Africa and how you can be part of what the Lord is doing in this place. Yeah, I think that that would be that would be my message. 

And then, of course, fix our eyes on Jesus, who is the other and the finisher of our faith. Every time we fix our eyes on Him, we get the heart of God concerning the humanity and concerning the people. So when we fix our eyes on Jesus, He gives us His heart for the least, for the last, for the lost. God bless you.
