We have 18 full-time staff and two part-time staff in seven African countries. We have one full-time staff and one part-time staff in the United States. Pray for protection, provision, wisdom, capacity, and intimacy with Jesus for our staff members. 

Possibilities Africa exists in seven countries–Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Zambia. Each country faces extreme poverty but has unique challenges, including political issues, government corruption, and tribal conflict. Pray for God to rewrite the story of these countries to one of redemption, hope, peace, unity, order, and freedom from oppression. 

For generations, Africans have relied on handouts from Westerners, so there is often resistance when our staff enters a community with a vision that says “no” to handouts and “yes” to starting micro-businesses. Pray for God to bring about lightbulb moments, true mindest change, and godly vision for the community members and spiritual leaders that Possibilities Africa encounters. 

Most pastors in Africa pastor at least one churc, though they have little to no theological training. It is also estimated that 280 million believers in Africa don’t own a Bible. Lastly, the Prosperity Gospel (the belief that teachers that God wants believers to be wealthy or healthy, and that faith and donations can lead to success) is spreading and damaging lives. Pray for the spiritual health of believers in the African church, for pastors to have access to necessary training, and for people to have the means to acquire Bibles.

The vision for Possibilities Africa is to have hubs across  Africa so we can reach more people asking for this model to transform their lives, homes, churches, and communities. The large vision of reaching all of Africa is only possible with God! Pray for God to connect us to future leaders, staff, and communities. Pray for resources to come at just the right time. Lastly, pray for the current countries to be sustained as we seek to grow.
